The Pass Plus course is designed to help new drivers improve their skill level.
The course was devised by the DVSA (Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency) with the help of the driving instructor industry and car insurance companies.
By gaining experience in conditions that unlikely to occur during normal driving lessons, it's seen as a safe way for a new drivers to add to their newly learned driving skills.
Some car insurance companies offer lower insurance to drivers that have completed the Pass Plus course, which can be very useful for younger drivers!
On the Pass Plus course drivers cover the subjects in a series of modules. To receive a certificate, all modules must be completed (there is no test at the end).
